I’m not sure what these flowers are, but they do look like spring! Denver Botanic Gardens is getting ready for spring and summer, and the warm weather that goes with it.

Haven’t done a running update in a while. I have been a little discouraged again, or at least a little indifferent about everything. After working up to a 6 mile distance I lost ambition, and backed off again to shorter distances.
Looking for inspiration, I signed up for the 35th Annual “Runnin’ of the Green” 7k at Washington Park in Denver. With just over a week to prepare I worked back up to a 7k distance running the trails in my neighborhood, and pushed for a better than 10 minute per mile pace. In my practice runs I was able to get to a 9:32 pace which was my best ever for over 4 miles. I would still like to improve, but with my age and physiological ability, that might be the best I can hope for.
Event day on March 12 was a cold morning as usual for this time of year in Denver. (I wonder if runners miss warm weather and sunny days more than normal people.) ??? I was able to maintain the pace I worked up to in practice, but was hoping to do better than I did.
I still need to work back up to a 10k distance. Ideally I would like to maintain the 9:30 pace for over 6 miles. It gives me something to strive for. The next event I am registered for is the Bolder Boulder 10k on Memorial Day. I do have about 10 weeks to prepare, and will do everything I can to reach my goals.
